The Ernest Cognacq Museum is the municipal museum of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Located near the old port, it occupies the Clerjotte Hotel, a magnificent Renaissance building. In restructuring since 2004, the modernization of the museum has taken a first step with the inauguration of a contemporary wing in September 2006.
